The donated items included 160 mattresses, 200 mosquito nets, 300 quilts, 240 pillows, and 160 bed sheet sets. The supplies are expected to improve inpatient care conditions and student living environments, directly addressing urgent needs of the local communities.
The donation was part of the company's ongoing efforts to implement its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives for 2026 in Zambia, which are aimed at contributing to the goals of achieving nationwide free education and universal health coverage set by Zambia's New Dawn Government.
A ceremony marking the donation was held at Kalulushi General Hospital on the morning of June 19 local time, bringing together local officials and representatives from Kalulushi General Hospital, Chati South Boarding Secondary School, and CCS.

In her speech at the ceremony, Kalulushi District Administrative Officer Indiana Sakala expressed appreciation on behalf of the people of Kalulushi District for the company's long-standing contribution to local socio-economic development.?
She noted that the company's CSR efforts are well aligned with Zambia's national development vision and CCS serves as a role model of government-business collaboration in improving community welfare.
She added that beyond contributing to local employment and fiscal revenue, CCS has become a trusted partner of the local government through sustained public welfare projects in healthcare and education.
The donated supplies, she emphasized, are especially timely during the current cold season and will help ease pressing shortages at Kalulushi General Hospital, Chati South Boarding Secondary School, and local health offices.
Sakala also encouraged CCS to continue engaging with the community on practical challenges, including infrastructure constraints, to further bring about positive changes to local people's lives.
Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of CCS reaffirmed that CSR has always been an integral part of the company's strategic management framework during its operations in Zambia for over two decades.
Looking ahead to 2026, CCS will continue comprehensively aligning its CSR initiatives with the national development agenda of Zambia's New Dawn Government, with efforts to be focused on planned projects including the construction of the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola, Copperbelt Province, upgrades to healthcare facilities in Chambishi town of Kalulushi District, the construction of sanitation facilities at Ichimpe Secondary School in Kalulushi District, as well as phased donations of desks and chairs to multiple schools, hospitals, and clinics, he said.?
The recent donation represented the first batch of these planned initiatives, according to the representative, who noted that future support will be adjusted in response to evolving community needs.
Other local officials and institutional leaders, including Senior Clinical Care Officer Patrick Chibuye from the Kalulushi District Health Office, Kalulushi General Hospital Senior Medical Superintendent Dr. Mwate Mwambazi, and Chati South Boarding Secondary School Headteacher Siachisomo, also delivered remarks at the donation ceremony.?
They emphasized the importance of the donated supplies to improving medical service delivery outcomes and the quality of education, and noted that the long-term support from CCS has not only eased operational pressures but also helped patients and students experience care and respect from the Chinese company.
